As you may know, The Woodlands is working on a new solid waste contract, i.e. TRASH!
There are two plans being considered. They are voting on this on Wednesday.
Option A will leave us with the same HUGE bin for trash. Option B will give everyone a smaller, 60-gallon bin for trash. Both options will give us BIG bins for our recycling - as big as those bins we have for trash now. YAY!
Our Environmental Services Department is working very hard to make The Woodlands a "zero-waste" community. This is one strong environmental stand we can take at the local level. Communities all over the country are trying to throw away *practically NO trash* - and we can, too.
If you support a reduction in the trash we send to our landfills and moving to make our town a zero-waste community, PLEASE email the Township Board members today! Ask them to vote for Option B, with the large recycling bins and the smaller trash bins. (You can always pay for more trash pickup if you need it.)

Remember what Julia Butterfly Hill asked: When you throw something away, where is "away?"
